CONCEPT
TSUM – A Historic Department Store in the Heart of Moscow
TSUM is a historic department store and a landmark located in the very center of Moscow, next to the renowned Bolshoi Theatre. It is one of the most complex and distinctive projects in our portfolio.
A Landmark in the City Center
The extremely limited construction site in central Moscow, combined with a complex network of underground utilities and the presence of an underground river, posed significant challenges during the design and construction of four underground levels.
Construction was carried out using the UP&DOWN technology, and despite the complexity, the building was completed within a record timeframe.
A Unique Façade and an Engineering Feat
For the façade, custom architectural concrete panels imitating natural stone were manufactured in Belgium. Each panel, weighing approximately 7 tons, was transported to central Moscow and installed onto a specially engineered substructure designed by our team.
This marked the first use of such façade technology in Moscow, positioning the project as a pioneering example in façade engineering.
