Moscow School of Management Skolkovo
LOCATION
Moscow Region, Russia
CONCEPT
Skolkovo – An Architectural and Technological Landmark
The concept and design of the Skolkovo campus were created by architect David Adjaye, inspired by the painting “Suprematism” by Russian artist Kazimir Malevich. This artistic reference is one of the reasons Skolkovo is considered a truly distinctive phenomenon in contemporary architecture.
The construction technologies applied were far ahead of their time. One of the most striking elements is a circular, disk-shaped building topped by three 15-metre-high cubes. Remarkably, one side of each cube is unsupported, extending up to 30 metres—an outstanding engineering achievement.
The President and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, along with prominent figures from politics and the economy, have served on the Board of Trustees of the Skolkovo project, confirming its strategic importance at both the national and international level.
